Posted by: Steven GreenThe School of Humanities and Social Science is seeking applicants who hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree, preferably from a Western or leading international university, at all ranks for positions in a wide range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences such as: Political Science, International Relations and Comparative Politics, History, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, World Literatures and Business/Financial Management. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to teaching classes, curriculum and program development, research, providing departmental guidance and leadership. We plan to hire 25 faculty and the positions are scheduled to start in August 2012. Open in 2010 in Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev University is designed to operate on a Western educational model, with instruction in English and faculty recruited worldwide. Its goal is nothing less than to create an elite institution of higher education for Central Asia and all of Eurasia. The international partners for our undergraduate programs include the University of Wisconsin-Madison, iCarnegie (a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University), and University College London. We are using their standards for hiring faculty. The School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers degree programs in political science and international relations, economics, anthropology, sociology, history, and languages and literature.
